The Wales coach, Chris Coleman, unveiled his team selection ahead of the Welsh side’s first clash in the Euros: Cafu, Beckenbauer, Moore, Roberto Carlos, Socrates, Zico, Charlton, Best, Pelé and Maradona.

Obviously, this will not be the line-up that Gareth Bale’s team put out for their debut in France. The team selector had a little joke at the expense of the press and, in passing, his neighbours, England. Ray Lewington, one of Roy Hodgson’s assistants had been photographed holding up official FA notepaper in which the starting XI for their opening game against Russia, the real line-up in this case, could be clearly made out.

Another amusing thing about the Welsh starting XI is that Coleman did not even select a goalkeeper among his star-studded side. On June 16th, England and Wales will come face to face in the second Group B game to see who has the last laugh.
