Marcos Alonso: «Benítez was not to blame»

Coach and former footballer Marcos Alonso spoke to Sportyou and stated clearly that he felt Rafa Benítez was a victim. Marcos thus joins a long list of managers and players who have come out in defence of the Spanish coach: «Benítez was not to blame. Wherever he has worked he has won titles. He is a great coach.» This Saturday sees the Madrid derby and the former F.C. Barcelona player does not have a favourite: «A derby is a derby. Anything is possible in football and both teams will fight to win because the race for the league title is not over yet. Having said that, a draw will be worthless for both of them.»
