Del Bosque

Vicente del Bosque was interviewed on the El Partido de las 12 radio show and spoke about David De Gea‘s situation and his future in the national team. “I hope that he starts playing again and is happy, and if he plays well we can bring him along, otherwise if he doesn’t play it will be very difficult for him to come.” He nevertheless had good words to say about the goalkeeper, saying that he was in good form and that he had him in mind for the upcoming games against Slovakia and Macedonia. “No, I haven’t spoken to him, but if I do feel the need to talk to him about it then I will say something. He needs to be professional and move on from this episode. All that is happening is for the good.” When asked for his views on how Real Madrid have acted in the saga, Del Bosque preferred not to give his opinion.

Regarding the two qualifying games for next summer’s tournament, Del Bosque said “they are important for us.” As for the mood at the training camp he said “everybody is happy to be here and the atmosphere is good.” Asked about fans jeering Piqué, he said that the centre-back is a player who is capable of dealing with it but also asked the fans to applaud the national team. He also spoke of Diego Costa’s recall to the squad, saying that he had not been happy with the player’s performances before but that now he is “willing and is interested in playing” and has been performing well for Chelsea recently.
