Barça pull ahead

Barcelona lead the table in the first division after the third round of games. The blaugrana side’s victory at the Vicente Calderón means they now have all nine points in play so far this season, having shown maximum efficiency: four goals for and only one against. They are ahead of Real Madrid (who have scored eleven without conceding), Celta, Villarreal and Eibar, by two points, all four are on seven.

The draw that Celta got against Las Palmas and Eibar managed away at Málaga means that Luis Enrique’s side begin the week topping the table and can now focus on the match against Roma with which they will begin the defence of the Champions League title they won last June.
